We Who Have lived It

Recovery is not a panel of professionals who we pay to get ideas from or suggestions on what we can do that might help us. Recovery is full of people who have been where we are, and can tell us exactly what they did so that they are no longer there. It is offered freely to anyone who wants it, knowing it's up to them to decide to accept it or not. Along with offering this for free, comes a way of living that none of us would ever think would fit us. This is one thing we'll never know unless we try it, and many of us were amazed at how much we actually enjoy living the way we found from being in recovery, it still seems impossible when looking back that we ever would. We also know that if recovery can work for us, it can work for anyone, and then they too will be amazed as we were and then they too will want to offer it freely to anyone else who can use it, so they can be amazed as well. Recovery is not something that any of us can buy, but it is something we all can become sold on by someone who has lived it.
